Uncontainable

Hubble Image - Top 100 - #28The Scriptures mention a brief, but important, list of “uncontainables”:

— Uncontainable offerings upon the bronze altar that Solomon had made (2 Chron 7:7);

— An uncontainable record of all that Jesus did (John 21:25);

— An uncontainable God (2 Chron 6:18). Listen to Solomon’s declaration:

“But will God really dwell on earth with men? The heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain You. How much less this temple I have built!”

The image shown here was taken by the Hubble Space Telescope of the star V838 Monocerotis. The light continues to “echo” years after a stellar outburst. This astronomical fact dovetails beautifully with Psalm 19:1-2 —

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.”

If the highest heavens cannot contain God, but instead must “pour forth speech” and “display knowledge” of His glory and works, then how much more should we, temples of His Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:19-20), overflow with the same?

“Let your light shine everywhere you go, that you may illumine creation, so men and women everywhere may see your good actions, may see creation at its fullest, may see your devotion to Me, and may turn and praise your Father in heaven because of it. (Matthew 5:16, The Voice)
